Labor Day Weekend 2017 | |
The
Crescent Lake Association capped off
the summer of 2017 with a Labor Day
weekend packed with activity! The
CLA picnic is the main event of the
weekend and was once again hosted at
Silver Beach, the home of Dick and
Jane Desbien. A beautiful sunny
afternoon brought together friends
and family from around the lake to
share the, music and laughter of a
summer ending celebration. Many
thanks to the Desbiens, the Caravan
Family, Mary Beth Gilpin and the
many volunteers who made the
afternoon possible.

Canoe Races by Bob Mumford |

The 2017 Crescent Lake Canoe Race was held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10 am- a cold 40 degree start to the day, but the wind wasn’t strong enough to tip anyone over. “Thank you”s go to Mary-Beth Gilpin(who raced also!) and her organized committee for providing refreshments for racers and spectators(Lorraine Dion doing the honors nicely), and to Tim Grinaski and Michael for getting up early and placing the orange race buoys along the course and then after racing themselves, Tim and Duncan Phyfe picking them up and delivering them for storage. Liz Grinaski and Bob Mumford signed up racers on entry sheets Liz printed earlier. We had 12 canoes racing this year, 4 more than last year. We’re hoping for even more next year!!! The Women’s race was the closest of all 4 divisions, with the top 2 canoes only 2(TWO!!!) seconds difference!!!!!!(19:28 over 19:30) For results and a photo slideshow click here. |

2017 Crescent Lake 5K Results - Congratulations to Rich Maynes and Jamie Bell, winners of the Men's & Women's divisions of this year's race. Thanks to everyone who turned out for the run and walk in what was left of hurricane Harvey. Cold and wet, but fun nonetheless!. Looking forward to a big turnout for the 9th Annual race next year!. We'll post the donation totals once we do the final tally. Keep an eye out for a note from Kevin Brenker on how you can still donate. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross to support Harvey victims. | |
